About Myoskeletal Therapy

What makes Myoskeletal Therapy Different? With a thorough understanding of not just the physiological, but also the psychological mechanisms of pain, a myoskeletal therapist can better evaluate and address root causes rather than just simply soothing symptoms. This is achieved through neurokinetic analysis, nerve mobilization techniques, strategically deep soft tissue therapy, assisted stretching and postural strengthening.

Unlike traditional massage therapy, which primarily focuses on relaxation and stress relief, myoskeletal therapy is specifically designed to target and treat issues such as nerve impingements, fascial-bound tissues, muscle imbalances, joint dysfunction, lymph blockages, and postural misalignments. By addressing these underlying issues, myoskeletal therapy can help to alleviate chronic pain, improve mobility, and enhance overall physical performance.

Similarly, while physical therapy often focuses on rehabilitation and strengthening exercises, myoskeletal therapy takes a more hands-on approach to treatment. Therapists such as Kate use a combination of manual myoskeletal techniques, such as myofascial decompression cupping, joint mobilization, and stretching, to release adhesions, improve alignment, and restore proper function to not only the muscles and joints, but to the nerves as well.

Overall, myoskeletal therapy offers a comprehensive out of the box approach to treating musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction, combining the best elements of massage therapy and physical therapy to provide effective and lasting relief. There is no cookie cutter, or band-aid approach. Every session is different then the last depending on your needs at that exact moment. If you are struggling with chronic pain or mobility issues, myoskeletal therapy may be a beneficial treatment option for you, and your family.

About Kate Moore LMT

Myoskeletal Therapist

I've been in your shoes before, searching for a therapist who could help while also being frustrated with my body's lack of ability to function without pain. I eventually became so fed up with not finding someone that I decided to go back to school and become a therapist myself. I've built my practice to emulate all the things that I would have liked to receive as a client: detailed work from a knowledgeable practitioner who truly listened and cares about my needs; the ability to have questions answered with practical self help routines to suit my busy lifestyle; a warm inviting atmosphere with a comfy table to receive treatments on instead of the sterile physical therapy setting that I was used to.

8yrs into owning my own business, my passion has definitely grown stronger as I seek to facilitate healing and restore efficient movement as quickly as possible. I always tell my clients that I love seeing you, however, my goal is to get you fixed and out the door as quickly as possible enabling you to live your life to the fullest, instead of being tied down to repetitive sessions. I'm not a fan of the 'band-aid' approach which only fixes the symptom and keeps people coming back for more and more therapy until their pocket books are empty. As part of my practice and philosophy, I strive to educate you every step of the way, empowering you to live better and healthier lives outside of my studio instead of always needing to rely on a manual therapist for help. Sure, some issues call for help from a therapist! But, there's a lot we can be doing at home to help ourselves as well.

If you need a positive, energetic, and caring Therapist please don't hesitate to reach out for a session. I'd love to help you restore your body, and cue you in on what you can also do to help yourself age gracefully and while staying injury free.
